The 300 series stainless steels are classified as austenitic and are hardenable only by cold working methods. 

  These grades of stainless have approximately 18% to 30% chromium and 6% to 20% nickel as their major alloying additions. 

  This series of stainless steel alloys are known to resist corrosion while maintaining their strength at high temperatures. 

  While the 304 grade is the most widely used alloy of all stainless steels, the 300 series grades are inventoried in stainless steel plate, sheet, bar, pipe, tube and fittings and much more.

304 stainless steel is a general-purpose stainless steel that is widely used to make equipment and machine parts that require good overall performance (corrosion resistance and formability). 

301 stainless steel exhibits significant work hardening during deformation and is used in a variety of applications requiring higher strength. 

302 stainless steel is essentially a variant of 304 stainless steel, which has a higher carbon content and can be cold rolled to achieve higher strength.

302B stainless steel is a stainless steel with a high silicon content, which has high resistance to high temperature oxidation. 

303 and 303Se stainless steels are free-cutting stainless steels containing sulfur and selenium, respectively, and are used in applications that require mainly free-cutting and high surface finish.

304N stainless steel is a nitrogen-containing stainless steel, nitrogen is added to improve the strength of the steel. 

305 and 384 stainless steel contains high nickel, its work hardening rate is low, suitable for a variety of applications requiring high cold formability.

348 Is a stainless steel for the nuclear power industry, the combination of tantalum and drill has a certain limit.
